Swedish trio

Saxophonist Mats Gustafsson, bassist Johan Berling and drummer Andreas Werliin - emerged as a flexible project at the intersection of free jazz, psychedelic rock, krautrock, noise, and heavy improvisation. Their music often revolves around heavy, hypnotic bass riffs, dense drum rhythms, and expressive, sometimes aggressive saxophone playing by Gustafsson. In general, Fire! is an example of how jazz can sound with the drive of punk and the heaviness of rock.

Their latest album

Testament (2024) - powerful, restrained, and simultaneously free, here the signature sound of the group becomes almost monolithic. Recorded and mixed by Steve Albini - this is one of the last studio works released during his lifetime.
