Photo Exhibition "Butterflies"

From May 19 to June 7 a photo exhibition "Butterflies" will be held in the foyer of the Cultural Center

The exhibition consists of photographs of butterflies taken by Васа Павкович, Гордана Баста and Зоран Гаврилович. At the opening, Васа Павкович will talk about the diurnal butterflies, and Зоран Гаврилович — about the nocturnal butterflies of Serbia. The aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness about the butterfly population in our country, as well as about wildlife in general, through artistic photography and lectures.

Diurnal and nocturnal butterflies belong to a large family of insects, the most numerous among living creatures on the planet. Unlike most insects that people usually fear and avoid, butterflies, especially diurnal ones, are very popular. This is primarily due to the patterns on their wings, their beautiful colors and shapes. In addition, butterflies are very useful creatures for nature and humans — after bees they are the most important pollinators of flowering plants. Thanks to them, plants are renewed year after year and spread across the Earth on suitable soils.
