Departure program

Departure at 6:00 AM from the parking lot in front of the Society's premises (by the New Belgrade municipality, Jugoagent building at Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard 165A).

We drive to the village of Goč (about 3.5 hours). Preparation for the hike starts from Selište Lake, which is situated at 963 m. From there we first follow a forest road, then trails across meadows and along the ridge of the mountain, moving slowly toward the summit. Goč is the source of many streams that flow toward the West Morava to the north and the Rasina to the south. The surface of Goč is covered with beech and fir forests, oak, birch and maple; in terms of flora it is considered one of Serbia's richest mountains.

We will climb Mali Ljukten (1152 m) and Veliki Ljukten (1216 m), the highest peaks on the Kraljevo side of Goč. From the summits you get fairy-tale views of the surrounding forests, pastures and mountains (Stolovi, Željin, Kopaonik).

After the peaks, we will descend to Selište Lake, a true mountain gem, where we will walk around the lake and have a break for relaxing and taking photos.

The trail is easy to moderate and suitable for hikers with average fitness.

Difficulty and duration

• Trail length: about 13 km
• Total elevation gain: about 400 m
• Duration of the trip: about 5–6 hours of easy walking with breaks
• Terrain: forest roads and clearings

After the hike we will finish the day with coffee and a stroll through the heart of Vrnjačka Banja. Free time for walking along the famous Promenade, visiting the "Bridge of Love"…

Expected arrival time in Belgrade around 9:30 PM.

Required documents for the trip: ID card, mountaineering card of the Mountaineering Association of Serbia with a valid sticker for the current year, and health booklet.
