Людмила Петрушевская in Belgrade
Description
Людмила Петрушевская in Belgrade — September 6
Dmitry Bykov called her 'the best of the currently living Russian writers'. Her plays have been staged at the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhT), Sovremennik and Taganka. You may know her from Porosenku Petru and 'пуськам бятым'.
For the first time in Belgrade — Людмила Петрушевская, an 88-year-old 'living classic' of Russian literature.
On this evening Людмила Стефановна will present several chapters from an adventurous novel about her own life and will sing songs about love. It will be a story of a wondrous and invincible love of life that links several eras — and of the reciprocal love that audiences around the world feel for 'one of the most resonant voices in contemporary literature in the world', according to The New Yorker.
