Concert: MONDAY BLUES BAND

Saturday, 6 June 2026 at 20:00

  • DOB//Amerikana

A unique musical program, which in previous years was shaped in the intimate atmosphere of the “Monday Blues” evenings on the Zidić of Dom omladine Belgrade, this time appears on the big stage in a full concert lineup. MONDAY BLUES BAND, a group of experienced blues musicians rooted in the tradition of the classic blues sound but also committed to open improvisation and strong on-stage communication, leaves no one indifferent — something the audience will be able to see on 6 June at Amerikana DOB.

  • Tickets can be purchased through the eFinity sales network and online, priced at 400 RSD.

The band's repertoire relies on the music of blues greats such as Peter Green, Robert Johnson and Elmore James, whose songs MONDAY BLUES BAND performs with its own sensibility, spontaneous improvisation and lively communication with the audience. Each performance is different from the last — with no predetermined setlist and plenty of room for the moment, emotion and unpredictability that only the blues can bring.

Regarding the upcoming concert, Aleksandar Đukić says:

When we started the MONDAY BLUES performances at the Zidić in front of Dom omladine Belgrade at the end of May 2017, we probably surprised the audience in some ways. Everything was unusual — we performed as a duet with two electric guitars and addressed people who often stopped by by chance and perhaps were hearing the blues live for the first time. Over time, conversations about the blues, the authors and the songs we play became an integral part of the performances and everything turned into a nice, relaxed gathering around the music. People grew to love it and week after week came in ever greater numbers. Today, when we play those songs in the full MONDAY BLUES BAND format, it seems to me that in some ways we even surprise ourselves. At concerts we improvise a lot, we jam and let the songs breathe freely. We never have a predetermined setlist — decisions are made on stage. The audience can expect plenty of music by Peter Green, Robert Johnson and Elmore James… and what could be better in the blues than that?

The MONDAY BLUES BAND concert on 6 June at Dom omladine will bring together the devoted audience of this program, but also open space for new listeners to discover the authentic and vibrant spirit of the blues through this project's distinctive musical expression, with rich sound and lighting production.
