Disasters, whether natural or man-made, leave little behind. Fire announces itself with plumes of smoke and devours everything in its sight, while the collapse of a structure is recognized by a sudden fall, a feeling of helplessness, and clouds of dust. The change of state is instantaneous. What remains after the devastation?

The exhibition “Novogradnja” focuses on urban zones laid waste by collapse, fire, or gradual decay. The photographed locations are not part of the same architectural complex or the same street, but belong to a shared path shaped by the daily movements of the artist and her fellow citizens. The condition of the buildings was tracked over an extended period, while the artistic process itself forms a map of personal memories.
