About the book

The revised and expanded fourth edition of “Novi Sad Punk Version”, published by СКЦНС, is rich with illustrations and documents events on the local punk scene from its beginnings in 1978 up to 2026 from the perspective of participants Сава Савић and Игор Тодоровић. The book will be available for purchase at the launch for 1,800 dinars.

When “Novi Sad Punk Version” is mentioned, I first think of a series of excellent launches that accompanied its first publication two decades ago. The memory of that pleasant May afternoon when the book was first presented to the public in “Изби”, as well as the now-legendary concert at “Градилишту”, truly creates a warm feeling in the chest. However, the greatest importance of that book is that the Novi Sad punk scene finally received the coverage it deserves. And it definitely shook our local punk community, somehow managing to connect different generations.

Twenty years later, the authors still do not give up, and they are here to once again present our small world chronologically, with all its ups and downs, giving enough space to all derivatives of Novi Sad punk: from Пекиншке патке to Wrishlas; from pop punk to grindcore; from self-destruction to social activism; from nihilism to straight edge... We're all here!
