Life in Two Parts
June 9 / 8:00 PM / KC Grad
The play Life in Two Parts by the theatre company Theatron brings intimate and powerful life stories of actors Suzanne and Željko Santrač—stories about migration, identity, belonging, and the search for a place we can call home.
Through the personal experiences of the two actors, the play raises questions of leaving, language, memory, and life between two cultures. While Suzanne talks about growing up in Sweden as the child of parents who moved from Yugoslavia, Željko shares the experience of arriving in Sweden as a refugee during the 1990s and the feeling of becoming a stranger in a new world.
Life in Two Parts combines documentary theatre, dialogue, and personal testimony into a production that for years has communicated poignantly and directly with audiences across Europe.
After the performance, the audience is invited to stay for a discussion and a shared meal, with space to share their own stories and experiences.
The play has been performed more than 200 times to date and has won multiple awards, including three awards at the Trema Fest festival in Serbia.
Admission is free.
