The museum is pleased to announce the guest exhibition Sword by Alexander Stanković, a teacher, historian, and theorist of classical, sports, and stage fencing. The exhibition, showcasing over 50 swords throughout the centuries, from antiquity through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the modern era, will be open to all enthusiasts and aficionados of this most elegant martial art on Tuesday, June 18, at 8:00 PM.

The exhibition includes a rich collection of more than 50 swords through the ages, with most items being replicas enriched with authentic pieces of yataghans and sabers from the Museum's collection of Weapons and Warrior Equipment, representing the sword culture of Serbia and the Balkans.

During the exhibition, there will be guided tours, workshops, and interactive lectures on the theory of the sword and the history of fencing in Serbia and Belgrade from the Middle Ages to the mid-20th century. We especially announce a small prize competition Sword in Stone for our youngest visitors.

With a welcome speech from the director of the Ethnographic Museum, Marko Krstić, the exhibition will be opened by author Alexander Stanković and curator of the Weapons and Warrior Equipment collection of the Ethnographic Museum, Ivan Maximović.
