“In Aleksandar Adžić’s sculptural oeuvre, metamorphosis is established as a principle of shaping and thinking through which the mutability of human identity, the disrupted relationship with nature, and the transformation of value systems in a society where market and consumer logic increasingly determine our relation to the world are reexamined. The Meta Morphis exhibition develops this principle further, transcending the change of physical form and opening a space to explore new relationships between the body, natural forms, everyday objects, and social signs. By connecting them, hybrid wholes emerge that evade established categories and call into question the boundaries between the organic and the artificial, the natural and the constructed. The strangeness of these combinations stems not only from their visual oddity but also from the change in the ontological status of the elements involved. Sculpture thus becomes a space in which assumptions about bodily wholeness, the stability of identity, and humanity’s place in the world are reconsidered…"

Aleksandar Adžić Adža (Novi Sad, 1971) — graduate sculptor-ceramist; member of UPIDIV and the Artists' Association LIKOVNI KRUG; founder and president of Centra za reciklažu umetnosti. He lives and works in the country and abroad.
