The Alternative Cinema of Академски филмски центар АФЦ ДКСГ is conceived as a space for collective viewing, reflection and conversation about film beyond commercial frameworks. Through carefully selected animated, experimental, documentary, and hybrid films that are part of our Archive of Alternative Film, this program raises questions of form, authorship, the temporal context of a film's creation, and the individual's viewing experience.

Screenings are accompanied by moderated discussions, conversations with guest filmmakers, and thematic debates, with active participation from students and other audience members. Students are not merely spectators but equal participants — invited to comment, think critically, connect films with contemporary artistic practices, and to suggest topics and films for future sessions.

In July and August, the Alternative Cinema will focus on documentary and experimental films.
