Theme

The theme of this fairy tale is a love story — a love triangle between Baroness Rezankina, Sir Limburger and Prince de Mayonnaise, whose irreconcilable differences trouble them because they come from different cultures. Presented in archetypal terms, this story suggests a familiar plot, making it accessible to children. Emphasizing what is different and diverse aims to reconcile three extremes, which is the educational core of the tale.

Educational aspect and message

Love that overcomes and triumphs over difference and conflict becomes the basic moral compass children should adopt in childhood. The play is written in verse, so in addition to promoting reconciliation, acceptance of diversity, and belief in love and tolerance, it will encourage children to cultivate an appreciation for the beauty and variety of language.

Form and aesthetic elements

The play also includes several songs, which children typically enjoy, and the neo‑Renaissance costumes will (we hope), in this era of poor taste, raise children's awareness of alternative aesthetic standards.
