Description

To mark their 60th anniversary, the Belgrade Youth Center in collaboration with the city of Belgrade is organizing a concert of the famous Zagreb rock band Psihomodo Pop on November 23 at the Amerikana Hall, who this year celebrates 40 years in the music scene with a big tour titled 'Believing in Miracles'! A limited number of tickets are available at a special promotional price of 1500 RSD at all eFinity sales points and online. Regular pre-sale ticket price will be 1800 RSD. The Zagreb band Psihomodo Pop is one of the most well-known and original rock bands that emerged from the former Yugoslav rock scene during the 1980s. Alongside bands like Partibrejkers and Električni orgazam from Belgrade, they greatly contributed to establishing the classic, intense rock 'n' roll sound as widely accepted throughout the then common state. Formed in 1983 after the breakup of the punk rock group Klinska Pomora, from which the singer Davor Gobac originated, who joined the cult underground group Neron - which was renamed to Psihomodo Pop after his arrival. They built their musical expression on solid rock foundations and punk energy, and from the very beginning became known as a fierce and convincing live band, clearly inspired by timeless legends such as The Rolling Stones, Ramones, Iggy Pop... This concept favored the unique stage persona of Davor Gopac, who pushed the boundaries of frontmen behavior in our region, and continues to captivate the audience with daring acrobatics and emotional dedication. At Psihomodo Pop concerts, the audience can best see and feel that rock 'n' roll is not just music, but also a lifestyle. Due to their uncompromising approach to stage expression, Psihomodo Pop spent five years as an unrecognized demo group, heroically breaking through with the support of the audience, without any released record. Finally, at the end of 1988, their first album, 'Year of the Dragon,' was released, immediately promoting them to the leading new group on the then Yugoslav rock scene. The hit song 'I Love Myself Only' was proclaimed the song of the year in numerous newspaper polls, and the debut release also featured hits that have remained classics of national rock to this day: 'Frida,' 'Ramona,' 'She's Gone (Forever),' 'When I Was 16,' etc. Throughout their rich career, they have released a total of twelve studio albums, three live albums, and three compilations. Their latest album 'Believing in Miracles' was recently awarded the 'New Record' for the year 2024 by the 'Croatian Record Industry Association.' They are currently working on several new releases: four live albums, a new studio album, and a documentary film directed by Radisav Jovanov - Gonzo, as well as a monograph dedicated to the band's history. Psihomodo Pop is currently on tour to celebrate 40 years of uninterrupted activity, during which they will hold a grand concert in Belgrade on November 23 at the Belgrade Youth Center, as part of marking the institution's jubilee of 60 years as a cultural landmark and true home of rock 'n' roll.
