Two Evenings with Ярослав Булавин
Description
📸 Two Evenings with Ярослав Булавин
Director and photographer Ярослав Булавин, who has returned from exile, will share the most incredible stories that happened to him during three years living in Serbia. Bury three cats in a park? Shelter a Yakut shaman? Become the hero of a protest community? We'll hear these and dozens of other stories that would be impossible to believe if each weren't accompanied by photographs.
At this stand-up with photographic evidence there will be lots of humor, immersion in Balkan chaos and, of course, love for the Serbian brothers.
- 🗓 July 11 (Saturday) at 7:00 PM
- 🎫 Price: 1000 RSD with mandatory advance registration
The following evening Ярослав will show two of his films and discuss them with the audience for the first time.
What if you accidentally open a folder with video recordings from ten years ago — and suddenly find yourself back in Saint Petersburg in 2015? There, when you're just over twenty. Where nights are spent in basement bars and gloomy communal apartments, where you dance by the icebreaker 'Krasin', bounce on a UAZ on the bridge by Chizhik-Pyzhik, sing Vysotsky and The Doors, witness love and betrayal, poetry and violence and have no idea what life will become next.
'The Air We Breathed' is not staged cinema but a documentary chronicle that came together as a portrait-film of the millennial generation and a Saint Petersburg poem that will transport you for two hours into your unvarnished youth.
Before the main screening — the short film 'Immersion' — a twenty-minute visual journey through the fantastic underwater worlds of swamps and puddles.
After each film — an open discussion with the director.
⚠️ This is a focus-group screening. The author wants to hear honest feedback from viewers.
The films will be shown in Russian with Russian and English subtitles
