Egyptian Lover in Belgrade!

Greg Broussard

Greg Broussard got his start in Los Angeles in the early ’80s: he spun records at underground parties alongside Ice-T and Uncle Jamm’s Army, where the local electro scene took shape. He then recorded tracks that defined the genre’s sound and released them on his own label, Egyptian Empire Records. His classics, “Egypt, Egypt” and “Dial-A-Freak,” still get the dance floor moving, and his sound has influenced Miami bass, Detroit ghettotech, and several generations of producers. Today, he still plays exclusively on vinyl and with a live Roland TR-808.
