Free ecological walking tours on Great War Island will be organized during July and August 2026 by the City Municipality of Zemun.

• Citizens will be able to enjoy learning about the attractions offered by Great War Island as an untouched natural gem, an island at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube, and a protected natural asset.
• Tours will take place on Fridays, starting 17 July. Upcoming dates are: 24 and 31 July, and 7, 14, 21 and 28 August from 17:00 to 19:30. In case of bad weather the tour will not be held.

Walking along the 'Health Trail' on Great War Island, experts will introduce participants to the island's history, nature protection regimes, island management, plant and animal life, the numerous and diverse birdlife — with special interest in the white-tailed eagle — native and invasive species of Great War Island, and many other facts about this important natural site.
The meeting point is at the exit of the pontoon bridge at Lido Beach.
Participants should bring a bottle of water, a hat or cap, and wear appropriate footwear and clothing for being outdoors. [danubeogradu.rs]
