JUAN ATKINS – GODFATHER OF TECHNO – 16 OCTOBER IN BELGRADE

Public talk + Club Session @lozionica

@lozionica & @gradski.kod present: @juan.cybotron.atkins, known worldwide as the Godfather of Techno, is coming to Belgrade for a special two-part program – a public talk about his work and legacy (with a Q&A with the audience), followed by a Club Session with The Originator himself at the DJ booth.

Why this is historic:

• Founder of Cybotron and author of "Clear" — one of the cornerstone records of Detroit electronic music
• In 1985 he launched the legendary metroplexrecords, and as Model 500 released "No UFO’s" — a track considered the first techno record ever
• Part of the Belleville Three (with Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson) — the trio whose music sparked a global movement and laid the foundations of techno culture

The original pioneer of Detroit techno. — Mixmag

Four decades later, his sets combine electro, techno and machine funk with the unmistakable sound of Detroit — from Movement in his hometown to Berlin's Tresor — and on 16 October Belgrade too. A rare opportunity to hear one of techno's founders firsthand — and then experience his sound on the dancefloor.

Local support — coming soon.
