How did Aksentije Marodić develop his painterly language and search for eternal beauty? In what ways did the works of the Old European masters shape his art, and how did he adapt their artistic solutions to the tradition of Serbian Orthodox painting?

Through the exhibition Aksentije Marodić. In Search of Eternal Beauty, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the life and work of one of the important Serbian painters of the 19th century, his artistic models, and the paths by which he developed his own painterly expression. Special attention will be paid to the monumental iconostasis of the church of the monastery Kovilja, the artist's most significant work, which has been reintroduced to the public after conservation and restoration work.

Curator-led tours reveal the story of an artist whose work connected European artistic currents and the national tradition, leaving a lasting mark on the history of Serbian art and culture.
