• “Culture on the beautiful blue Danube”: from 25 June to 27 August Gallery Square in Novi Sad will host a true cultural summer

• “Summer at Gallery Square” is an annual summer cultural festival organized by three art galleries — Pavle Beljanski Gallery, Matica Srpska Gallery and Raiko Mamuzic Gallery — forming an important cultural hub of Novi Sad.

• All cultural events within the festival take place on Gallery Square and in their green garden-courtyards. Gallery Square

• The festival’s theme changes every summer but is always connected to culture and the arts.

Festival theme 2026 — “Culture on the beautiful blue Danube”

• This is a series of free summer events dedicated to the cultural, artistic and natural riches of Austria. The program covers visual, musical, performing and film arts and introduces Austrian art through lectures, films and concerts.

• Cultural and educational events will take place throughout the summer on Thursdays at 21:00 (starting 25 June). Entry to all events is free.

• The official opening will be on 25 June at 21:00 and will begin with a performance by the Vienna-based musical-theatre ensemble Synesthetic Project, consisting of musicians, dancers, animators and videographers.

• 🎞️ Sleeping with the Tiger — 2 July — about the challenging journey in the art world of Austrian artist Maria Lassnig.

• 🎞️ The Dreamers — 6 August — about the love and decades-long correspondence of two outstanding Austrian poets of the 20th century, Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan.

• 🎵 As part of the concert program, the string ensemble Dinamika Music will perform in tandem with DJs — 13 August — presenting classical music in a contemporary style.

• 🎵 Dance club Fiesta — 27 August — featuring waltzes and dances of the Viennese court.

• 📚 A variety of lectures and an intellectual quiz are also included in this year’s cultural program.
