Merzbow and Bad Sector in Drugstore

Description

Jarko Tusich

In Belgrade, two titans of radical electronica are coming together for a joint concert!

Merzbow

  • a project by the Japanese musician Masami Akita, one of the key figures in the global noise underground. Merzbow's music is extreme noise: dense layers of distortions, overloaded frequencies, digital and analog noise, devoid of traditional melody and rhythm. The project has been around since the late 1970s, with hundreds of releases to its name, as well as numerous collaborations with Boris, Genesis P-Orridge, Fennesz, and other experimental artists.

Bad Sector

  • an Italian project by Massimo Magrini, a notable figure in the dark ambient and industrial scene of the 1990s, known for its cold, technogenic sound and the use of real scientific and space data (telemetry, radio signals, equipment noises) as sound material. His music consists of minimalist, rhythmless soundscapes more reminiscent of the atmosphere of an abandoned laboratory or spaceport than traditional compositions. Key releases like Ampos (1995), The Harrow (2001), and Kosmodrom (2005) have made the project a cult favorite in the experimental electronic community.
