Disasters, whether natural or man-made, leave little behind. Fire appears as smoke signals and devours everything within its view, while the collapse of a building is recognized by a sudden fall, a feeling of helplessness, and clouds of dust. The change of state is instantaneous. What remains after the devastation?

The exhibition “Novogradnja” focuses on urban areas laid waste by collapse, fire, or gradual decay. The photographed sites are not part of the same architectural complex or the same street, but belong to a shared route shaped by the daily movements of the artist and her fellow citizens. The condition of the buildings has been documented over an extended period, while the artistic process itself forms a map of personal memories.
