“Songs and Stories from the Balkans” Concert. An interactive chamber concert by Andriana, who will guide the audience through various musical traditions of the Balkans—primarily Serbia, but also Bosnia, Croatia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Greece, and other countries in the region. The boundary between the stage and the audience will remain open: you’ll be able to pick up a vocal line, try singing the second voice, or simply clap along to the song. Andriana is particularly interested in traditional polyphonic singing from the Balkans and Eastern Europe. She has directed a Balkan music choir in Italy, led master classes on Balkan singing in various countries, and participated in international musical exchanges. For her, it’s not just about learning a song—it’s about understanding what it says about the people and culture from which it comes.
