IX Dunav Film Fest

IX Dunav Film Fest brings six days of film at four attractive locations in Smederevo

The IX Dunav Film Fest will be held from 21 to 26 August in Smederevo, under the patronage of the City of Smederevo and organized by Centar za kulturu Smederevo.

During the six festival days, 40 films will be screened across four program sections, at attractive locations around the city:

• The Little Town of the Smederevo Fortress
• Danube Park
• The plateau near Karađorđe's mulberry tree
• Centar za kulturu Smederevo

This year the festival again combines its film program with the unique settings of the city on the Danube.

The festival will be officially opened on Friday, 21 August, at 8:00 PM, in the Little Town of the Smederevo Fortress, with a screening of the film "Kuća" (The House) by director Tanja Brzaković.

At the center of the story is Jovan, an architect of Serbian origin who spent most of his life in Berlin and who, after health problems, returns to his native region together with his grandson, whom he barely knows. Their arrival sets in motion a story about family heritage, belonging, and the struggle to preserve a region threatened by a development project.
