Movement and Spasm - Vladimir Janić
Description
Exhibition “Movement and Spasm” by Vladimir Janić at Galerija Kula, 5–22 November 2026
Opening
Opening: 5 November at 7 pm | Cetinjska 15, Belgrade
About the exhibition
The exhibition brings together photography, painting, and video works through which the artist explores uncertainty, vulnerability, and violence. The works probe the boundary between the threatening and the threatened subject, as well as between the injured and the performative body, while opening questions about the origins of movement and the forces that set it in motion, their impact on a body or a structure, and the traces they leave behind. Movement thus appears as a multivalent field where the relations between control, resistance, and vulnerability are in constant flux.
Vladimir Janić (1998) completed his BA and MA at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies. He received the Department of Fine Arts Annual Award for the New Media Art study program (2021) and the Special Award at the 9th World Biennial of Photography (2023). Since 2022 he has been part of the organizing team of the art association Projekat EXP, and since 2026 he has been a member of the Art Council of Galerija SULUV and SULUJ. Janić’s photographic works have been published in print and digital outlets including Fotografiska, Zone Magazine, and Fisheye Magazine.
