Description

Exhibition "Pokret i Grč" by Vladimir Janić at Galerija Kula, November 5–22, 2026

Opening

Opening: November 5 at 7 pm | Cetinjska 15, Belgrade

Exhibition description

The exhibition brings together photographic, painting, and video works through which the artist explores themes of uncertainty, vulnerability, and violence. The works probe the boundary between the threatening and the threatened subject, as well as between the injured and the performative body, while opening up questions about the origins of movement and the forces that set it in motion, their impact on the body or structure, and the traces they leave behind. Movement thus emerges as a multi-layered space where the relationships between control, resistance, and vulnerability are in constant flux.

Vladimir Janić (1998) completed his BA and MA at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he is currently pursuing doctoral studies. He is the recipient of the Annual Award of the Department of Fine Arts for the New Art Media program (2021) and the Special Award at the 9th World Biennial of Photography (2023). Since 2022 he has been part of the organizing team of the art association Projekat EXP, and since 2026 a member of the Art Council of Galerija SULUV and SULUJ. Janić’s photographic work has appeared in print and digital publications, including Fotografiska, Zone Magazine, and Fisheye Magazine.
