Exhibition Tour and Workshop: Critics' Choice 2026: IT'S JUST THE END OF THE WORLD
Saturday, March 7
Gathering at the KCB Art Gallery, 6 Knez Mihailova Street
- 1:00 PM: Tour of the exhibition with the concept's author, Sofija Milenković, workshop designer and artist Tamara Spalajković, and artists Lidija Delić and Jelena Nikolić.
- 2:00 PM: Public space workshop "Sound Inequalities in the Urban Environment"; workshop designed and led by Tamara Spalajković.
- The workshop is intended for 15 participants, and no prior experience with sound is required.
- Applications for the workshop should be sent to: [email protected] – with the subject "KCB soundwalk".
The workshop applies active listening as a means of reflecting on the structural and political layers of the urban environment. Based on the theory of "deep listening" (Poline Oliveros) and "acoustic territories" (Brendon Label), the workshop guides participants to analyze how sound shapes our perception of space, our relationship with the environment, and how power structures are reflected in our (urban) acoustic environment, through short listening exercises and a subsequent discussion. Sound recording equipment and microphones, such as a ZOOM audio recorder and a specialized microphone for low frequencies – a geophone, will be used during the workshop.
Tamara Spalajković (1996, Belgrade) is an artist and researcher whose work encompasses video, sound, and interdisciplinary approaches to themes of critical urbanism. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Brno University of Technology, where she is working on an art-research project that, among other things, produces documentary-fictional video works exploring the impact of urbanization on coexistence in cities. Alongside her research work, she co-founded the band Keiko Sei with Daniel Rajmon and creates experimental electronic music under the name hiding season. Starting in the fall of 2025, she will work as an assistant at the Audiovisual Technologies Department at FaVU VUT. She is the recipient of the Jozef Hlávka Award for Researchers (2025) and was previously supported by the Dositej Fund for Young Talents.
