Music from the series STRANGER THINGS live in Belgrade
After the epic finale of the global Netflix phenomenon, the series STRANGER THINGS, Emmy-winning composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein (of the band S U R V I V E) return to the stage in a final celebration of the popular saga, live in Belgrade.
On Thursday, 3 September 2026, from 21:00, a concert titled KYLE DIXON & MICHAEL STEIN PERFORMING THE MUSIC OF STRANGER THINGS will be held at club Drugstore (Bulevar despota Stefana 115).
The 2026 tour offers a complete sonic retrospective covering all five seasons of the series.
From the cult opening theme of 2016 to the culminating sounds of the recently released fifth season, Dixon and Stein revive their unforgettable pieces.
To raise the show to a fully immersive experience, they have joined forces with renowned visual artist MFO (Marsel Veber). The new show delivers a minimalist yet striking design of lights and "smoke sculptures." Light takes on a physical presence through dreamy light effects and eerie movements, erasing the line between concert and film screening, turning the Stranger Things atmosphere into a truly tangible experience.
The reactions of the international press have been more than positive.
PITCHFORK: "This is music that understands the difference between 'retro' and 'timeless', choosing a cool, analog precision that sounds at once vintage and startlingly new."
LOUDER THAN WAR: "Like any film music, it doesn't need visuals to 'sing' or to put you in the right frame of mind."
DROWNED IN SOUND: "There are many beautiful compositions and details, mixing 80s-inspired synthesizers that range from lush to eerie."
RESIDENT ADVISOR: "Even with sounds inextricably linked to the late '70s and early '80s, this music tells its story with character, composure and a fresh perspective."
In the annals of film and television, certain musical themes manage to outgrow the moving image. From the iconic whistle in Morricone's theme for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to "Love On A Real Train" by Tangerine Dream, memorable soundtracks have a peculiar ability to encapsulate an entire era and aesthetic. The talented Texan artists Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein are responsible for a body of work that has become synonymous with Hawkins, Indiana, the supernatural town at the heart of Netflix's hit Stranger Things. As the town becomes the stage for supernatural battles, Dixon and Stein's soundscapes expanded in sync.
Meanwhile, the duo composes music for feature films, documentary series and large installations, and perform in the band S U R V I V E. Building on the legacy of predecessors like John Carpenter and contemporaries such as Oneohtrix Point Never, Dixon and Stein use a lifelong obsession with synthesizers and electronic music as a means to realize larger-than-life visions.
When the Duffer brothers hired them for STRANGER THINGS, the duo rolled up their sleeves and took on a workload usually handled by a fleet of composers and assistants. As the series transformed from an 80s sci-fi homage into an expansive supernatural epic, Stein and Dixon rose to the challenge.
While the music in early seasons focused on the timeless sound of analog synthesizers, they soon developed melodies and atmospheres worthy of Eleven and Mike's interdimensional struggle.
Music is a main character in STRANGER THINGS, and their soundtrack intertwines skillfully with triumphant hits like "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush. That song topped the charts again after its climax in the fourth season.
Their tireless work catapulted them from underground heroes to key composers of modern film and television. They won an Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for their work on the series, along with numerous Grammy and ASCAP nominations.
For the newer seasons of STRANGER THINGS, the duo worked at a dizzying pace, creating every few weeks a musical score equivalent to that of a feature film. (ProPR)
